The Couples Intensive — Weekend Schedule

One couple. Two psychologists. A weekend devoted entirely to your relationship.

Before You Arrive

Your intensive begins before the weekend does. Each partner completes a confidential telehealth intake session and structured assessments, so that when you arrive Friday evening, we already know your history — and every hour on the property is spent working, not gathering background.

Friday

5:00 – 6:00 PM — Arrival, welcome, and settling into your private accommodations

6:00 – 7:00 PM — Dinner

7:00 – 8:30 PM — Opening Session. Both psychologists, both partners: clarifying goals and mapping the beliefs and patterns driving your relationship’s cycle

8:30 PM — Guided evening reflection for each partner

Saturday

8:00 – 9:00 AM — Breakfast

9:00 – 10:30 AM — Conjoint Session. Identifying and challenging the demands and hidden assumptions each partner brings to the relationship

10:30 – 11:30 AM — Private Individual Sessions, held simultaneously. Each partner works one-on-one with their own psychologist

11:30 AM – 1:00 PM — Experiential activity on the property: guided walk, canoeing, or a cooperative exercise, chosen for your couple

1:00 – 2:00 PM — Lunch

2:00 – 3:00 PM — Rest, reflection, and journaling

3:00 – 4:00 PM — Second Individual Sessions, held simultaneously

4:15 – 5:45 PM — Integration Session. Both psychologists bring the day’s individual work back into the relationship, while it’s fresh

6:00 – 7:00 PM — Dinner

7:00 – 8:30 PM — Intimacy and Connection Session. A structured, comfortable conjoint session on desire, closeness, and physical and emotional intimacy

Sunday

8:00 – 9:00 AM — Breakfast

9:00 – 11:00 AM — Experiential activity: practicing new patterns of cooperation and responsiveness together

11:00 AM – 12:00 PM — Unstructured time on the property

12:00 – 1:00 PM — Lunch

1:00 – 2:30 PM — Closing Session. Your relationship formulation, a personalized conflict plan, and a concrete month-one program for home

2:30 – 4:30 PM — Free time; individual wrap-up conversations as needed; scheduling of included follow-up telehealth sessions

5:00 – 6:30 PM — Farewell dinner and departure

What the Weekend Includes

More than 13 hours of structured therapeutic work, including 7½ hours of conjoint therapy with both psychologists present. Two private individual sessions for each partner — run simultaneously, so individual work never subtracts from your time together. Three and a half hours of guided experiential activities across 180 private acres. All meals and private lodging. Pre-retreat telehealth intake and post-retreat follow-up sessions.

The weekend alternates focused clinical work with restorative shared experience — by design. Each session builds on the last, so that you leave not only with insight, but with a specific, practiced plan for sustaining change at home.
