Why Mallory Creek Retreat Was Created

Our Mission & Personal Story

For decades, Dr. Mike and Dr. Lidia Abrams have helped individuals navigate life’s most difficult psychological challenges – from anxiety and depression to relationship conflicts and existential concerns. While working in clinical settings and academia, they saw a recurring issue: many people needed more than traditional therapy sessions – they needed a dedicated space to heal, reflect, and rebuild in a peaceful, supportive environment.

This realization led to the creation of Mallory Creek Retreat, a private, immersive retreat center nestled in the serene landscapes of Chemung, NY. Designed to provide deep psychological healing through expert-led cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and personalized guidance, our retreats offer a unique blend of science-backed therapy and restorative nature experiences.

Unlike large, impersonal wellness retreats, Mallory Creek Retreat is intentionally intimate, with a limit of only four guests per retreat. This exclusivity ensures that every participant receives personalized attention, tailored interventions, and the space needed for real transformation.

At Mallory Creek, healing is not about looking back – it’s about moving forward. Our goal is to help individuals recover from stress, self-doubt, and emotional burdens, equipping them with practical, life-changing tools for resilience and well-being.

"True healing happens when knowledge meets experience. We don’t just teach psychological principles - we guide you in applying them to real life, so you leave not just with insights, but with lasting change."
— Dr. Mike & Dr. Lidia Abrams
